Abstract

This study aims to determine the interactive learning video has a better effect on the ability to understand the concept of quadratic equation material in class IX SMP Negeri 38 Padang. The type of research used is quantitative research with experimental methods. The research design used is posttest-only control design, with the consideration that the treatment results can be known after treatment. This study used random sampling technique. The sample used was 62 students, spread over two classes. Data collection in this study was carried out through test techniques. The test technique given to measure the concept understanding ability of students in the experimental class and control class. The result of this study is the value of tcount = 6.535 with the value of ttable = 2,000. So it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted in the sense that the average value of classes that use interactive videos is better than classes that do not use interactive videos on the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of class IX students of SMP Negeri 38 Padang.
