Abstract

High mathematics learning achievement, especially at the University Mahaputra Muhammad Yamin Solok is the desire of all parties, both from students, parents and the college. Achievement of optimal learning in the learning process of students affected by two factors: internal and external factors. Some examples of them are their perceptions of students about methods of teaching in the lecture which is still not good so it will affect student achievement is low. In addition to students' perceptions on teaching methods, other factors that can affect the level of learning achievement is the interest in learning. One of the learning strategies that can maximize the potential of academic owned students and improve learning interest manifested in active learning type Practice Rehearsal Pairs. Formulation of the problem in this research is "What are the perceptions and interests of students majoring in Mathematics Education PMIPA towards active learning type of practice rehearsal pairs in Solok UMMY? This research is a descriptive study with a sample is math student VI semester 2014/2015 academic year which numbered 70 people at the Department of PMIPA FKIP UMMY Solok who has done active learning types Rehearsal Practice pair. The sampling technique using total sampling. To obtain the data necessary data collection techniques used in the form of a questionnaire. The type of questionnaire used type of questionnaire enclosed with the form of rating scale. Data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis.
