The problems faced in the course of statistical mathematics 1 are: students’ understanding of the material in the Statistical Mathematics 1 is still low; Mathematics problem solving ability of students is still low. The problem of this research is "Is the students’ mathematics problem solving ability who studied using cooperative learning model Think-Pair-Share with students’ worksheet based Scaffolding better than conventional learning with students’ worksheet based Scaffolding on Statistical Mathematics 1 in mathematic education program UMMY Solok? ". This research is a quasi experimental, experimental class with the implementation of cooperative learning think-pair-share with students’ worksheet based Scaffolding and control class with conventional learning with students’ worksheet based Scaffolding. Data obtained after the tests of mathematical problem solving ability of students. The results of requirements analysis with the test Lilliefors normality test and homogeneity of variance with F-test, data obtained both classes are normally distributed and samples were homogeneous. Then, the result of t-test, obtained the value and . Because of , it means rejected, so that we can conclude that the ability of the students’ ability of mathematical problem solving who studied using the implementation of cooperative learning model Think-Pair-Share with students’ worksheet based Scaffolding better than conventional learning with students’ worksheet based Scaffolding on Statistical Mathematics 1 in mathematics education program UMMY Solok.
