Abstract

Based on observations of researchers in SD Negeri 36 Lubuk Pasing district. Bayang, fifth grade teacher in learning only lead students to memorize concepts in mathematics learning, the teacher only provide information and knowledge only to students, without being required to apply the concepts learned to complete the problem.To, researchers interested in improving the process of learning mathematics through Strategy problem Based learning (SPBM). Problem-based learning strategy is a pemmbelajaran that uses real-world problems as a context for students on how to think critically and problem solving skills, as well as to acquire the knowledge and problem solving skills, as well as to acquire knowledge and essential concept of matter. In carrying out the study with SPBM following the steps in the learning of orienting students on the issue, organizing students to learn, guiding the investigation individually or in groups, develop and produce the work, and analyze and evaluate the results of troubleshooting. Increased student learning outcomes can be seen from the results of student learning in the first cycle 69.8. Learning is not considered complete if the results obtained below 75% and for this research was continued in the second cycle. And learning outcomes on the second cycle increased to 85
