This study examined students' perceptions of using social media for English learning during the implementation of Indonesia's Kurikulum Merdeka. The research sample encompassed 32 seventh-grade students from SMPN 5 Solok during the 2022/2023 academic year. A descriptive quantitative methodology was employed, involving the administration of a 28-item questionnaire instrument utilizing a 5-point Likert-type scale. The results showed 57.5% of students had a positive perception of social media for English skills development, categorized as "good." This suggests most students view social media as beneficial for improving listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English. Teachers can explore various social media platforms as learning tools to enhance grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and other language aspects during Kurikulum Merdeka. The findings highlight the potential of social media as a valuable resource for English language learning, particularly in the context of the Kurikulum Merdeka.
